Travel Tip Tuesday: How To Keep Everything Organized When Packing
Tuesday, October 7, 2014
Ever seen travel packing cubes and be tempted to buy them? I’ve bought a pack before and I actually never use them. I implement a much more archaic and less costly method when I pack: old grocery store bags.
(Here’s a bag we recently packed for a vacation we took with Traveler #3.)
When packing, use plastic shopping bags to organize everything in your luggage. I usually have 1 bag for pants, 1 for tees, 1 for underwear, 1 for socks, and each pair of shoes gets a bag too. If I have liquids like sunblock or bug spray, those get a bag too. The bags make it easy to quickly find items in my suitcase and I don’t have to worry if TSA decides to check my luggage; since everything is compartmentalized, it is easy to fit everything back in the suitcase.
