Travel Tip Tuesday: Connecting With Other Expats Abroad

Whether you’re moving to another country or just spending an extended period of time abroad, it always helps to make new friends in your new country.  Your new friends can not only save you from dining solo but can also offer advice and tips beyond what you’d find in a guidebook – at least, according to Ingrid who blogs her expatriate adventures in Shanghai on her blog, SoCal To Shanghai.

A couple of sites she recommends for connecting with other expats are:

Internations

Meetup

I think the sites would be worth checking out whether or not you’re an expat.  It’s always nice to connect with others when traveling and who better to connect with than someone who can empathize with you on what it’s like to live in [insert country name here] country as a foreigner?

Help me keep this series going!  If you have any travel tips, please email me at di[email protected] and your tip may end up in a future post!
