Rent An Entire Theme Park For $24,000
If you’re looking for the perfect party place for you and 15,000 of your friends and family, look no more. You can now rent an entire Japanese theme park – Japan Monkey Park – for $24,000 for two hours.
SpaceMarket, a Tokyo startup created to simplify the lending and borrowing of space, made renting a theme park as easy as renting a room on Airbnb.
The company that launched in January 2014, has more than 4,000 venues for rent. Most of the venues are in Japan, except for Coca-Cola Park, a baseball stadium in Allentown, Pennsylvania. You can rent this park with a capacity up to 8,000 people for $1,625 per day.
Other unconventional rentals include a private island, a temple and a hot spring.
The venues can be used for parties, weddings, photo shoots, art galleries or conferences. But you can basically rent any available space for just about anything!
With the 2020 Tokyo Olympics coming up, the Japanese government is pushing for 30 million annual tourists. In the coming years, Spacemarket hopes to expand and provide venues to visitors, founder and CEO Daisuke Shigematsu told Tech in Asia.
