New Travel Trend
One of the most interesting new trends in travel is the opportunity for networking while traveling. For example Delta came out with Delta Innovation Class which allows travelers to experience their flight with a leader in the technology, science or art field. Delta describes the networking experience as, “A mentoring program – that just so happens to take place at 35,000 feet.”
In order to experience this yourself you must first select an upcoming Innovation Class flight, these flights are usually headed to a particular event such as a TED Talk or an Awards Show. You must then apply using your LinkedIn Profile. If you are selected, your flight to the event will be free and you will have that time to talk with your mentor.
Another program is KLM’s Meet & Seat Program where users are able to view each other’s social profiles, such as Facebook or LinkedIn. You are then able to switch your seat according to who you would like to sit next to. According to Mashable, case studies have determined that very large amount of people use the option to make business connections.
Satisfy, on the other hand, matches people based on mutual interests on their social profiles, which they refer to as “intelligent seating.” Passengers are asked if they prefer a social or quiet flight and are seated accordingly.
What might be most interesting is, if you choose to open your social profiles up to one of these programs, there is the possibility that you may make a new business connection or even better, a new friend.
