Los Prados Gnacien (Gnacien Paddock) in Near Pedraza, Spain

Outside the Spanish city of Pedraza, by a low stone wall off the side of the road, is a marker honoring the gnacien, one of the most beloved–and depicted–creatures in the parallel world of Kcymaerxthaere.  The marker strongly suggests that the low wall might even have been that of a gnacien paddock.

Gnaciens were seven-legged deer-like creatures. Their prime numbered legs were incredibly delicious and and a single bite could sustain someone for a long time, but only if the person had the willpower to take only that one bite. To the gluttonous, it was no different than any other meal. But the really tricky part is that their non-prime numbered legs were poisonous unto death. Indeed, as you may remember from math class, 1 is NOT a prime number, a fact that was fatal to at least one scholar.

Created by Geographer-at-Large Eames Demetrios, Kcymaerxthaere is a "parallel universe that intersects with much of our linear Earth, but with different stories, creatures, peoples, even laws of physics and qualities of existence."  It has been likened to a novel with every page in a different place. What makes the Kcymaerxthaere project particularly interesting is that Demetrios installs informative markers and historical sites at the locations in our world that connect to his world, creating real world intersections with his imagined universe.
