Drinking-on-the-plane

Long trips on a plane can be both time consuming and very boring. Why not spice up that ride with a little bit of alcohol? But, who really wants to pay those ridiculous airline prices for liquor? Here’s a quick hack to help you legally bring your own alcohol on your next flight.

According to the TSA, passengers may carry items that are non flammable, less than or equal to 100ml (3 oz) and stored in a 1 qt Ziploc style bag. Here’s the secret, TSA does not state that items such as alcohol can’t be placed in your 1 qt Ziploc style bag.

Yes, that’s correct; as long as you comply with those guidelines than alcohol is fair game!!!  But keep in mind that alcoholic beverages that contain more than 70% alcohol content are not allowed in your checked luggage.

Simply go to your local liquor store and purchase your favorite miniature bottles of liquor, which are typically 50ml. Bag them up in your 1 qt Ziploc style bag and voila! Alcohol on the plane!

Though TSA let’s you bring alcohol through security, it is against many airlines policy for passengers to consume their own liquor while on board.

So we suggest you either mix your drink before boarding or do it in secret while on the plane. You can thank us later.
