Cheap Travel Hacks

Unfortunately, for those of us who tend to travel in groups, a major inconvenience are those cell phones of ours. What are some tricks we can use to be able to use our phones and keep it cheap? We have a few that might save you lots of money!

First on your list should be WhatsApp. It requires a smartphone for it to be downloaded and once you have it you are able to send FREE, yes that’s right, free SMS AND MMS texts, the only requirement is that you must be connected to Wi-Fi, which luckily many hotels and cafes offer for free. According to Yahoo, WhatsApp is free for the first year and will then cost you 99 cents a year – what a steal!

The Independent Traveler suggests that you turn off your 3G OR 4G, your cellular data and data roaming. If you do turn these settings off you will at some point receive all those missed voicemails, texts and data which could cause a pretty ridiculous bill!

For those with iPhones, Trip Hacker tells us that you can make calls using Skype and Google voice, all you need, once again, is to be connected to a Wi-Fi network. Also, make use of your FaceTime since it is 100% free to make video calls to others who have Apple products such as iPhones, Macs and iPads.
