Advice On When to Use a Travel Agent

travel agent

While you may be able to save money on a trip by opting to plan the trip yourself you may face so many inconveniences along the way that you wish someone would have taken care of it for you.

Trips to destinations you’re not very familiar with or complicated trips with many people or many destinations are situations when it is ideal to use a travel agent reports The Chicago Tribune.  The added bonus is that despite the belief that using a travel agent will be more expensive, it’s usually not. Travel agents have access to special promotional offers and exclusive deals that you don’t. According to CheatSheet.com with the right travel agent you could save $500 to $1000 on your trip.  The best part is that someone is doing the work for you and you’re getting expert advice without the hassle of sitting in front of the computer and having to check everything out yourself.

It is recommended that you make sure you find an accredited travel agent. There is only one professional association which represents travel agents, ASTA. The greatest benefit of this is that it has its own code of ethics, meaning that any complaint must be looked into, so a certain level of service and professionalism is required. To find an ASTA agent visit TravelSense.org.
