5 Ways To Find Train Entertainment For Kids

train entertainment

Although taking a train ride to your destination can be part of your adventure; it can seem a little daunting at times, especially if you have children along for the ride. Even though taking a train can be cheaper and more comfortable, you also have to deal with longer traveling times. Thus no matter how much money you save or how much extra space you have for the duration of your journey; if you can’t keep your children entertained, the trip will be dreadful. To help you out, here are 5 ways to help entertain your kids on a train.

  1. Plan Entertainment for the Trip

Bring along cards, travel games, and other activities to provide your kids train entertainment. Just make sure the options are lightweight, and easy to pick up and store.

  1. Bring a Tablet or Other Portable Viewing Device

Having something for your little ones to watch a movie on can be a lifesaver when traveling. However, if you decide to let your children watch or play something, make sure to be considerate of the other passengers. Bring along either headphones (over the head options are best for kids) or keep the volume at a respectable level.

  1. Play Travel Bingo or I SPY

There are plenty of free train entertainment options you can play while traveling, especially when you’re on a more scenic route. Encourage your kids to watch for specific landmarks, or to find animals out the window.

  1. Read

Newspapers, magazines, and books are one of the best options for traveling. They are compact, don’t make a lot of noise, and can keep you entertained for hours.

  1. Tour the Train

Although this will not work for every minute of your trip, touring the train will help to encourage your child’s curiosity. Plus, depending how long the train is, by the time you make it back to your seat your kids could be ready for a nap.
